I ended up taking a rest day yesterday basically because I did not want to get out of bed. Jerry had told me that I should not miss Thursday and now I know why. This is definitely a WOD I do well in and have seen real good progession on since we do it about every 25-30 days. Here goes
Repetition Max - 5 rounds
Strict Press - Pullups
You have 2:30 minutes to get your repetition max once you drop the bar or get off the pullup bar you are done and the remainder of the 2:30 is rest time. Not a metcon workout definitley a strength and muscle endurance workout.
Jerry possted the previous two times we had this workout and here is how I did

July 3
Strict Press 85# 92 reps
Pullups 80 reps
August 18th
Strict Press 95# 85 reps
Pullups 71 reps
The August workout I had torn my hands up pretty good a few days before and basically was doing finger tip pullups. I really wanted to get over 100 pullups especially since I started off with 25 in the first round. I asked Jerry what weight I should use and he challenged me to use 105#. I was all about the challenge but knew I would not get 90 reps so just wanted to go all out each round.
Here are my results today for each round
Round 1 Strict Press - 18 Pullup - 25
Round 2 Strict Press - 15 Pullup - 20
Round 3 Strict Press - 14 Pullup - 20
Round 4 Strict Press - 12 Pullup - 20
Round 5 Strict Press - 10 Pullup - 19
Total Strict Press 69 Pullup - 104
I know I went to absolute failure on every strict press and did not hold anything back. That probably explains the downward repetitions per round. I was really happy with maintaining 20 pullups per round but I think I may have been able to do a few more in rounds 2 or 3. On round 5 I got 18 and readjusted my hands and got 19, then ended up with just a finger tip grip and was trying to get the strength to adjust my grip to a whole hand but literally fell off the bar. Pretty sure that was a sign I gave all I had.
Like I said I love this workout. It is definitley a strength of mine. I have been able to increase my strict press by 10# each time and maintained good reps. I wish I had gotten around 75 today but knew I gave it everything. What more can you want from a workout?
I will be interested to see if I move up again to 115# next time. I would like to get in the 70s or low 80s with 105 strict press. As for pullups I was pumped about the 104! Jack tied me and Stacey got one more.
